What makes the GMBL unique is the large roster size - a 40 man active Major League roster plus a 20 man prospect farm system. Since our beginning we only use cards & dice in our league along with just a couple of modifications to the APBA Basic Game. The General Managers Baseball League (GMBL) is a 28 team APBA-based baseball league founded in the fall of 2007.

Over the years as Major League Baseball expanded we did too and currently have 15 teams, in a three division format. In 1990 we changed to only one MLB affiliation for first year carded players and in 2000 we eliminated the MLB affiliation format.

We began in 1975 using a hi-low format for 12 teams and each team had two Major League Baseball teams that assigned first year carded players. We are proud to honor the great Roberto Clemente
